March 2022 meeting

The March meeting will be at the Fruitville Library on Saturday, March 19. The Library doors open at 10 a.m. and the meeting starts shortly after. The Library is located at 100 Coburn Rd (exit 210 E) off I-75 in Sarasota, Fl. After a short business meeting bring a modern quilt for Show and Tell.

The March program will be - bring your UFO's! Bring a quilt top you've started but haven't finished for discussion. Many Congratulations to award-winning members this month!

First up is QuiltCon 2022 Phoenix  Congratulations to Carole Lyles Shaw for her first place win in Bee Quilts. The quilt will next be displayed at the AQS Paducah QuiltWeek April 27 through April 30, 2022.

At the Florida State Fair, Nan Ryan's quilt won the first place ribbon in the Group category. This is the 6-minute circle technique taught by Tommy F at our Retreat a couple years ago. Congrats Nan!

At the Gathering of Quilts show in Punta Gorda, Jamie Scully won the first place ribbon for 
"Black & White & Red Flowers All Over". It's a variation of the palm leaf block so cleverly redesigned.
