Workshop - Class Opportunities

 For members of Sarasota Modern Quilt Guild, two opportunities for quilting classes have opened. First is through our sister guild, South Sarasota Modern Quilt Guild…(remember that awesome virtual lecture with Charles Cameron last year? Here’s a virtual class with him.)

I am in charge of education for S2MQG.

I would like to share information for an upcoming Zoom class with Charles Cameron, on Saturday, October 12, from 12:00-4:00PM.

Class fee is $40, plus a required pattern purchase and some homework in advance of class. 

We would like to open it up to your membership.

Speed Date With Improv - Krista Hennebury @poppyprint
Saturday, November 2
10 AM to 5 PM Eastern Time
Non-member fee: $65

Think of this class as speed dating with improvisational piecing techniques that include curves and free-cutting. Several techniques are introduced and demonstrated one after the other with little time to second guess, stress or obsess over perfection. Every student will end up with a unique, original improv 20” x 20” sampler quilt! The focus here is to explore line, shape and happenstance in abstract design, to keep things simply graphic by using solid-colored fabrics in black, white and one pop of color. In the afternoon, Krista will share design wall tips to jigsaw the improv elements together, seeking balance and creative design opportunities. Some pre-cutting is required.
