The March meeting will be on Saturday, March 15 at 10:15am at the Fruitville Library meeting room located at 100 Coburn Way exit 210 off I-75 in Sarasota FL Bring a modern quilt for show and tell.
The program will be to bring a UFO or blocks you just don't know what to do with. The group will offer some ideas for a fresh look. For more info click here or on the Program tab.
Our Annual Airing of the Quilts on Feb 8 was perfect weather, colorful quilts hanging under the palms and the best attendance ever. Click here to see a video of the show or on the Airing of Quilts tab.
A highlight of our show and tell was seeing "The Gong" quilt again. Made from a block challenge and raffled off in the early years of the guild, Nan was the lucky winner. This quilt hits so many of the modern quilt characteristics: bold color, improv piecing, negative space, and alternate grid work especially.
